Mr. Xianglin Chen specializes in commercial arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution, with nearly two decades of practice experience. He has extensive experience representing foreign clients and multinational corporations in China-related commercial disputes, as well as advising major domestic enterprises in overseas commercial disputes. Mr. Chen has handled a wide range of complex and high-profile matters across various sectors, including investment and financing disputes, joint venture disputes, disputes in the life sciences and pharmaceutical sector, product liability cases, and public crisis management.
Prior to joining Han Kun, Mr. Chen spent ten years in the dispute resolution group at King & Wood in Beijing. He has represented domestic and international clients in numerous arbitration proceedings before leading arbitral institutions, including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC), and the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). In addition, Mr. Chen has represented a number of multinational corporations and major state-owned enterprises in extensive litigation proceedings before the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China, as well as courts at various levels across the country.
Mr. Chen is a listed/recommended arbitrator with multiple well-known domestic and international arbitration institutions, including HKIAC, CIETAC, BAC, SCIA, the China Maritime Arbitration Commission, and the Zhuhai Arbitration Commission, and he has served as both presiding and sole arbitrator in numerous cases.
Mr. Chen is among the first cohort of lawyers selected for the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China’s “National Foreign-Related Legal Talent Pool,” and is also a member of the Beijing Lawyers Association’s “Capital Foreign-Related Lawyers Program.”
