Work experience

Mr. Yao mainly focuses on commercial dispute resolution and legal advisory services.  The commercial disputes he has handled include company commercial contract disputes, investment and financing disputes, construction project disputes, and share transfer and repurchase disputes.  His main client industries include banking and finance, funds and asset management, real estate and construction projects, technology and media, and pharmaceuticals and medical devices, etc.
Prior to joining Han Kun Law Offices, Mr. Yao served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 construction company, interned with Commerce & Finance Law Offices, and interned with non-profit organizations and law firms in the United States.

Educational background

Mr. Yao received an LL.B. degree from East China University of Political Science and Law.  He also received an LL.M. degree from Cornell University with honors.
