Mr. Zheng's practice focuses on patent law, with particular expertise in global patent applications, patent searches, patent analysis, and patent consulting. Mr. Zheng has advised numerous industry-leading domestic and international clients on global patent application and protection strategies, and has assisted these companies in obtaining patents in China, Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions.
Leveraging his technical background, Mr. Zheng is particularly adept at handling patent matters in the field of artificial intelligence. To date, he has drafted nearly 300 invention patent applications and close to 100 global patent applications in AI-related fields, covering a range of cutting-edge areas including generative AI, large models, machine learning, federated learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, speech recognition, and recommendation systems. His work also extends to core supporting fields such as AI chips, deep learning frameworks, cloud computing, and edge computing, as well as complex application areas including autonomous vehicles, biomedicine, and smart cities.
In the area of IP dispute resolution, Mr. Zheng has participated in multiple patent invalidation cases and patent infringement litigations. In addition, Mr. Zheng's practice also covers IP compliance. He has been involved in open-source software compliance projects for several renowned domestic and international companies, and has assisted a major Chinese internet company in establishing its open-source software compliance framework.
Prior to his IP practice, Mr. Zheng conducted research at an artificial intelligence laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis, and interned with a leading global Internet information services provider.
