Work experience

Prior to joining Han Kun Law Offices in 2025, Ms. Zhao practiced law for nearly 10 years with several U.S. law firms, including Jones Day, Morgan Lewis, and Wilson Sonsini.  She also previously practiced as a partner in a reputable PRC law firm.
Ms. Zhao focuses her practice on private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, company financings, technology licensing and commercialization, and NewCo, spin-off and other innovative types of transactions.  She has extensive experience in transactions and has represented leading investment institutions, multinational companies, and start-up companies in closing numerous deals.
Ms. Zhao has in-depth experience in advising clients on complex, cross-border and sensitive transactions, and particularly excels at strategizing with innovative structures and approaches to resolve difficult issues due to regulations and geo-politics.

Educational background

Ms. Zhao obtained a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degree from East China University of Political Science and Law. She also received an LL.M. degree from Columbia University.
