Ms. Wang has nearly 22 years of experience in intellectual property matters. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 15 years with the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Examination Department and the Patent Reexamination Board of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). She subsequently worked at a leading Chinese law firm and later served for more than five years in the intellectual property department of a world-renowned multinational pharmaceutical company.
Specializing in patent litigation and non-litigation matters in the pharmaceutical, biological and chemical fields, Ms. Wang has presided over more than 1,000 cases involving substantive examination, reexamination and invalidation of patents. She has successfully handled dozens of patent administrative litigation cases. She is particularly experienced in coordinating parallel patent invalidation, infringement, grant and patent linkage, and is well regarded for handling complex patent disputes involving novel and cutting-edge legal issues. Her practice also covers IP project management, patent term extension for pharmaceuticals, and IP due diligence for licensing, transactions and IPO projects. She regularly advises clients on the development and implementation of comprehensive intellectual property strategies.
Ms. Wang previously served as an International Patent Examiner and Team Leader of the Europe Group of International Patent Examiners at CNIPA, where she was recognized as one of its early core talents. During her tenure, she participated in a number of research projects concerning supplementary experimental data, patent reexamination practices under amendments to the Patent Law, and comparative studies of patent examination procedures in major jurisdictions, including those of the USPTO, KIPO, JPO and EPO. She also participated in exchange and training programs at the USPTO, KIPO, JPO and EPO. In addition, she contributed to the Chinese translation of the EPO Guidelines for Examination, Case Law of the Boards of Appeal of the European Patent Office, and the JPO Examination Guidelines.
