Recently, Bank of China and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank ("AIIB") successfully closed a five-year cross-border RMB loan project for Uzbekistan's telecommunications infrastructure sector, with total financing exceeding RMB 700 million. Han Kun Law Offices acted as legal counsel to Bank of China and provided legal services for the project.
The project was settled entirely in RMB, further enriching the application scenarios for cross-border RMB settlement in the Central Asian region. Focused on Uzbekistan's telecommunications network infrastructure sector, the project provides financing support for investments in advanced telecommunication technologies and equipment, helping enterprises strengthen their participation in global industrial value chains.
Bank of China has long been committed to strengthening cooperation with multilateral financial institutions. Leveraging its global network and integrated financial service capabilities, Bank of China has actively expanded third-party market financing, completed a number of landmark international financing projects, and continued to provide strong financial services in support of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. The successful closing of this project represents another example of Bank of China's efforts to deepen international multilateral financial cooperation and to promote the international use of RMB.
Han Kun partner Kanxi Liao, acting as legal counsel to Bank of China, leveraged his extensive experience in cross-border financing and international finance to provide professional legal services for the project. This project once again demonstrates Han Kun's strength in delivering integrated, high-quality legal services for cross-border banking and financing transactions.
