Han Kun Law Offices is pleased to announce that Ms. Weishu Chu has recently joined the firm. The addition of Ms. Chu will further strengthen and enhance Han Kun's dispute resolution capabilities. Ms. Chu will be mainly based in the firm's Shanghai office.

Ms. Chu has many years of experience working with prosecutorial authorities, where she handled a substantial number of difficult, novel, and complex criminal cases, including cases that attracted significant public attention.
Since entering private practice, Ms. Chu has represented clients in a wide range of major and complex criminal cases, including a case involving the actual controller of a high-tech enterprise accused of trade secret infringement; a case involving the chairman of a state-owned enterprise accused of fraud; the first case involving alleged trade secret infringement in connection with overseas examination questions; a case involving the head of an overseas subsidiary of a central state-owned enterprise accused of abuse of power and bribery; and a case involving the actual controller of a listed company accused of securities market manipulation and breach of trust, causing harm to the interests of the listed company. She has achieved favorable outcomes in numerous matters, including dismissals at the investigation stage, decisions not to prosecute, and acquittals.
For several consecutive years, cases handled by Ms. Chu have been selected for publication or recognition in Criminal Trial Reference of the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Court's Excellent Cases, the Guiding Cases of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, representative cases featured in the Shanghai Financial Prosecution White Paper, and the Top Ten Intellectual Property Judicial Protection Cases of Shanghai Courts.
Ms. Chu graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws in Criminal Law. Ms. Chu is a member of the PRC Bar.
Ms. Chu will work closely with partners across the firm's relevant practice areas, leveraging her specialized expertise in criminal law and corporate compliance to strengthen cross-practice collaboration and deliver more comprehensive, high-quality legal services to clients.
